Born in Lynchburg, Virginia, Andrews played college golf at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, and won the North and South Women's Amateur at Pinehurst in 1988.[1]

Andrews' rookie season on the LPGA Tour was 1990; she won six titles between 1993 and 1998,[2][3] including a major championship, the 1994 Nabisco Dinah Shore, won with a birdie on the final hole.[4] Her best finish on the money list was third in 1998, and she also made the top ten in 1993 (9th) and 1994 (5th). Andrews represented the United States in the Solheim Cup in 1994 and 1998, and was the captain of the Junior Solheim Cup team in 2007.

After her retirement from LPGA Tour, Andrews became a golf instructor at Pine Needles Resort near Pinehurst, North Carolina and is co-owner of Andrews and James Real Estate. Andrews has two children; son Connor and daughter Sarah with husband James Tepatti.

In 2005, Andrews was inducted into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame

Career

  • In 2007, captained the 2007 U.S. PING Junior Solheim Cup Team in Bastad, Sweden.
  • In 2006, did not compete due to the birth of her first child, Connor James Tepatti; named captain of the U.S. Team for the 2007 PING Junior Solheim Cup.
  • In 2004, despite being hampered by a nagging shoulder injury, recorded four top-10 finishes, including a tie for eighth at the Safeway International Presented by Coca-Cola.
  • In 2003, best finish was a tie for seventh at the BMO Financial Group Canadian Women’s Open.
  • In 2002, best finish was fourth place at the Aerus Electrolux USA Championship Hosted by Vince Gill and Amy Grant.
  • In 2001, recorded her best finish at the Williams Championship, where she tied for second and carded her career-low 62 during the second round; crossed the $3 million mark in career earnings after a tie for 16th at the Asahi Ryokuken International Championship at Mount Vintage; led the Tour in driving accuracy (85.3%).
  • In 2000, posted three top-20 finishes, including a season-best tie for 11th at the New Albany Golf Classic.
  • In 1999, best finish was sixth place at the Oldsmobile Classic; suffered an injury to her shoulder when she fell from a horse in June; returned to competition in August.
  • In 1998, captured the Longs Drugs Challenge title for her sixth career victory and was a runner-up four consecutive times: tied for second at the Sara Lee Classic and McDonald’s LPGA Championship and finished second at the Michelob Light Classic and Oldsmobile Classic; lost the Sara Lee Classic to Barb Mucha and the Michelob Light Classic to Annika Sorenstam, both on the second holes of sudden-death playoffs; crossed the $2 million mark in career earnings following the Sara Lee Classic; was a member of the victorious U.S. Solheim Cup Team.
  • In 1997, recorded the fifth win of her career at the Welch’s/Circle K Championship.

    Amateur
    Andrews was a successful junior and amateur golfer in the state of Virginia. She won the 1983-84 Virginia State Junior Championships and was a five-time winner of the Virginia Women’s State Amateur Championship (1985-89). She was the North- South Women’s Amateur Championship winner in 1984 and 1988 and was runner-up in 1989. As a collegiate player for the University of North Carolina, Andrews won the 1989 Furman University Invitational and was a Second-Team All-American that same year.
